We made our own torches!!

Year 4 learnt about electrical circuits! An electrical circuit is a loop through which an electric current can flow.
It consists of:
-
A power source – such as a battery or a generator
-
Wires – which allow electric current to flow through them
-
Components – devices such as switches, bulbs, or motors
'Last week, we were learning about electrical items and for them to work, there needs to be a complete circuit. Some electric items are: kettles, vacuums, toasters etc. On Friday, we got to make our own torches. We used an empty Pringles box, card and tissue paper to decorate and design it. We also used bulbs, wires, split pins and much more to create our torch circuits!
This was a good experience of us making torches to see what works and what doesn't. Allah (SWT) has given us light shelters that relate to many people in the world in the past, who used candles to see. We are so lucky alhamdulillah we can turn our light switches on and have light whenever we want.' - Inaya H
'Last week, we were learning about circuits. I also learnt about battery-powered products and the types of switches we humans use. Furthermore, at the end of the week, we got an experience to create our own torches! What I enjoyed most was decorating our own torches with Pringles, card and tissue paper and making our circuit. Allah (SWT) gave us light so we should be grateful for what we have. I know we all really enjoyed ourselves!' - Fatima Z
