Summer 1 - Excitement in Space!

This term, we started our Space topic by reading Whatever Next! by Jill Murphy. The story is about Baby Bear going on an adventure to the moon in a cardboard box.
The children loved the story and used their imaginations to go on their own space adventures.

We turned our home corner into a Space Station and made a rocket from cardboard. The children enjoyed pretending to be astronauts, exploring space and having lots of fun.

We also wrote our own lists of things we would take to space with us. The children had lots of fantastic ideas and enjoyed practising their writing skills.

We ended the first week by making our own jam or honey sandwiches, just like Baby Bear in the story. The children listened carefully and followed instructions step by step to make their sandwiches. This was a great way to develop their listening and fine motor skills, as well as their independence.
