Alhamdulillah, our Date Palm children have settled in very well and have had a wonderful first week in Reception!

This week, the children have been learning our classroom rules and routines, getting to know the names of their new friends and settling into our lunchtime routine.

 

Our story this week was We're Going on a Bear Hunt, which follows a family on an exciting adventure as they search for a bear. The children enjoyed listening to the story, joining in with the actions and repeated phrases.

 

 

 

 

 

During free flow, they had lots of fun using props to retell the story and act out different parts of their bear hunt adventure.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The children have also been busy creating their own handprints and drawing pictures of things they enjoy doing or playing with. This gave us a lovely opportunity to find out more about each child, their interests and the things they enjoy. It has been wonderful getting to know them a little better.
