Public Statement: Incident at Al-Noor Primary School on Tuesday 11/11/25
Update from the Police regarding the incident:
On Tuesday, 11 November, at 07:49hrs police were called to a school in Green Lane, Ilford following reports that a man was acting aggressively towards members of the public.
Met officers attended within eight minutes of the first call and arrested a 22-year-old man for possession of points and blades.
There were no reports of any injuries, and the incident is believed to be isolated. The man was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act.
An investigation has been launched, and enquiries remain ongoing. Local officers are patrolling at key times and the local community are encouraged to speak to them with any concerns.

At approximately 7:45am on Tuesday 11/11/25, a member of the public approached Al-Noor Primary School on Green Lane, Ilford, and began acting aggressively outside the school premises.
Staff acted immediately to ensure the safety of pupils and contacted the police. Officers arrived within minutes and detained the individual nearby. The police have confirmed that a Taser was drawn but not discharged, and the man was safely arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.
We are grateful to the Metropolitan Police for their swift and professional response, and to our staff whose calm actions ensured that no one was harmed and all children remained safe at all times.
This was an isolated incident involving one individual. There is no ongoing risk to pupils, staff, or the wider community.
We also thank our parents and local community for their cooperation and understanding during the incident.
For further reassurance, pupils have been spoken to by school leaders and are safe and settled in class. The school remains open as usual.
