This November, Mariyam competed at the IBJJF European Championships in Dublin, where she battled her way to the finals against a top competitor from Brazil, taking home a silver medal in a wonderful display of skill and determination.

Just a month prior, she stepped into her first-ever MMA interclub in Watford – one of the biggest shows around – where she faced girls older than her. She showed incredible courage and composure.

Earlier in the year, Mariyam also struck gold at the English Open!
