Exploring different types of leaves
In Science today, we collected a variety of leaves from our local environment. We observed our leaves carefully, looking at the textures and veins. We then used these features to classify the leaves.
In Science today, we collected a variety of leaves from our local environment. We observed our leaves carefully, looking at the textures and veins. We then used these features to classify the leaves.
In D&T this term we have been designing and making a purse or wallet. Over a number of lessons we learnt how to cut and pin a template, cut a fabric shape and sew the seams with different stitches, such as running stitch or over stitch. Finally, we decorated our purses with ribbon or sequins and learnt how to attach a fastening.
Now we are ready to take our money containers to the shops !
In D&T this term, Year 4 have been designing and making money containers such as purses and
Wallets. This has developed a number of skills. First, we practised different stitches. Then we chose
and cut out a template and used it to cut out the design we wanted on fabric. We are looking
Forward to sewing our purses together !
This week in science, we went on a habitat hunt in our local area. We discovered different types of habitats, including high habitats, low habitats, wet habitats and dry habitats!
Drop Down Day 1 : Roman History Day
Year Four had a fantastic time on their recent Drop-Down Day about Ancient Rome. Children were divided into tribes of Celts (settlers) and tribes of Romans (invaders).
