This January, our school had the honour of hosting the second Association of Muslim Schools (AMS) interschool Debate Competition, facilitated by renowned debating specialist and author, Mr. Julian Bell, who guided students through the essentials of persuasive speech and logical reasoning.  

Pupils from five visiting schools collaborated with our own pupils to master formal debating etiquette. The day began with a lively "ice-breaker" discussion on the ethics of zoos, allowing participants to sharpen their delivery in a relaxed setting.

The energy peaked during the final session, where teams applied their new skills in a spirited, formal debate on the topic of 'should school uniform for primary children be banned?'

Masha’Allah, it was inspiring to see these future leaders find their voices. Our young orators had a fantastic experience, and we eagerly anticipate hosting them again insha’Allah!
