Applications for admission
Applications for admission to Reception Year in September 2019 (known as admission “in the normal admission round”) must be made to the Local Authority by completing and submitting their Common Application Form (“CAF”) which is accessible via the Local Authority’s admissions page on its website.
Parents must ensure that they complete all necessary information (for example, details of siblings) in the CAF before it is submitted. Failure to do so by the application deadline will result in the child being placed into the next category that applies.
For children applying for one of the places reserved for Muslim pupils and/or for places under category 2 below, parents must complete and submit a supplementary information form (“SIF”) and submit it directly to the school. Failure to do so will result in the child being placed into the next category that applies, which will reduce the chance of achieving a place. The SIF is available for download below.
If you did not get a place in your preferred school, you can appeal against the decision if you can demonstrate that the school’s admissions process was improperly applied, or that exceptional circumstances warrant admission of your child.
You can make an appeal using the appropriate form, which can be found below. Please carefully note the deadline you need to apply by, as late appeals applications will not be considered.
Offer Date: 16th April
Appeals lodged by: 19th May
Appeals to be heard by: 20th July
